Why Does God Command Me?
$9.00
In this book, Ali Reza Panahian attempts to answer the question "Why does God command me?" by discussing the effects of God’s commands on one’s personal training and morals.

This book has two main sections:

1. “Residing in God’s House (the Mosque)” - This is a note for people who go into seclusion in the Mosque (Itikāf). It includes some explanations about Itikāf for people to be able to benefit better from the spiritual opportunities of this seclusion or spiritual retreat and to be able to start thinking about this special, outstanding worship act. I`tikaf is two days of struggling in doing recommended deeds in order to reach the divine obligatory command on the third day…

2. “The Glory of God’s Commands” - This section, which is the larger section of the book, answers the question “Why does God command me?” from a viewpoint that is based on training and ethics. In addition, it also attempts to explain some of Islam’s deep educational concepts in a simple language. In describing the beauty of the divine commands, some of the questions that are discussed include: If all divine given duties were recommended actions, wouldn’t we feel better? Is the desire to “not be obliged to do things” an unnatural feeling? Why did God make the Midnight Prayer obligatory for the Prophet (s)?

The valuable effect of this section of the book is the enjoyable, glorious, pleasant image that stays in the reader’s mind about the concept “God’s commands,” which will automatically influence his/her spiritual growth and development.
